Double Chance Predictions — The Smart Way to Build Accumulators
In football betting, predicting exact match outcomes in the 1X2 market can be incredibly frustrating. A 94th-minute equaliser can turn a brilliant tactical prediction into a losing slip. This is where Double Chance (1X, 12, X2) becomes the most valuable tool in a bettor's arsenal. By allowing you to cover two of the three possible outcomes in a single bet, Double Chance mathematically increases your probability of winning a given leg from ~33% to 66%.
FootyBlazer's Double Chance tips are specifically designed for accumulator builders. We understand that while the odds for a 1X or X2 bet are lower (typically ranging from 1.15 to 1.45), combining four or five of these highly secure selections creates a robust multiplier that withstands the chaos of weekend football.
How FootyBlazer Selects Double Chance Tips
We don't just pick favourites and add a draw safety net. Our selection process relies heavily on Expected Points (xPts) variance and defensive stability:
- 1X (Home or Draw): We target home teams that boast a massive disparity between their Home xG and Away xGA, but may be facing an opponent capable of shutting up shop. 1X is perfect for "Fortress" stadiums where the home side simply does not lose, even on off days.
- X2 (Draw or Away): We look for elite away sides with low Expected Goals Against (xGA). When a top-tier team travels to a mid-table side, X2 protects your bet against the home team playing above themselves to secure a gritty 1-1 draw.
- 12 (Home or Away / No Draw): This is an underrated market. We use 12 for matches between two highly aggressive, attacking teams with poor defences. When combined xG is high and midfield blocks are non-existent, the mathematical probability of a draw plummets.
Why Use Double Chance Instead of Draw No Bet (DNB)?
While Draw No Bet (DNB) voids your stake if the match ends in a draw, Double Chance wins if the match ends in a draw (if you chose 1X or X2). In accumulator betting, a voided DNB leg reduces your overall odds and payouts. A winning Double Chance leg, even at lower odds, keeps your multiplier intact. If your primary goal is to keep the accumulator alive and winning, Double Chance is superior.
